MINUTES FOR DIACONATE MEETING OF DECEMBER 4, 2011

Present: Linda Baker, Joan Augustino, Sara Baker, Bob Macallister, Agnes Sorenson, Cindy Nickerson, Kathy Sullivan, Rev Terry for a short time

Opening Prayer: Kathy S.

List for “sign-up” to be a reader for Christmas Eve sent around to all of us at the meeting.

Minister’s Report: Christmas Eve= need 4 ushers. Will be much like last year. Hope child care will be available. Christmas Day Service: Casual and anyone who attends can be part of the service. Theme is “Be at Peace”.

CE and Church Outreach Report: None

Liaison’s Report: None

Minutes: Accepted.

Old Business:

Laity Sunday- Will not be in February. Decided on April 29, 2012.

Visitor’s Gifts: Going very well. The basket needs to be refilled on a fairly regular basis.

New Business:

Discussion regarding when sacristy doors should be open prior to service allowing people to go into church. Bob will pursue this issue and we will discuss again.

A great big thanks to Linda Baker and Sara Baker for all their hard work and wonderful input while on this committee. They have completed their terms on the Diaconate Committee.

Reminder: All-committee meetings will be held on two Sundays after service during the year and two Wednesday evenings during the year which ends up being quarterly for the year. All single committees will meet as they feel necessary.
