Welcome and introduction of the new members. Members in
attendence: Jan Llewelyn, Syd Bare, Bob Macallister, Kathy Sullivan, Carl
Meade, Sara Baker, Cindy Nickerson and Rev. John Terry.
First Order of Business: Election of new chair/s, secretary
and treasurer were as follows:
Co. Chairs-Jan Llewelyn and Bob Macallister
Secretary: David Wilbur
Treasurer: Carl Meade
Minister’s Report: Rev. Terry has finalized the Ash Wednesday
service. Two deacons are needed for the Noon service. We are planning on about
25 people to attend. This will be a communion service We discussed the request
from Kristy Kerrins, Music Director to have a period of silence in the
sanctuary during the Prelude. John will enter the sanctuary at 10 am and this
will signal the beginning of the Prelude. It will be announced to the
membership from the pulpit and repeated again in the Friendly Word and Sunday
Bulletins. All deacons are requested to cooperate in this effort. We will
discuss the other Lenten services at our next meeting .
Liaison’s Report: Bruce Sandberg will serve as the liaison
to the Church Committee. Bruce reported that the Sunday Sexton candidate will
have to be Cori checked before he begins his assignment.
Minutes: With only 2 members from the January meeting in
attendance the minutes were accepted as submitted.
Treasurer Report: no report given, Carl Meade received the
balance and information.
Old Business:
Sunday Sexton job has budget approval.
The Diaconate comments were not delivered to the House Committee until tonight.
The Medical Letter has been sent to
all on the list. 4 have responded positively.
Tiny Tots- Security issues were
discussed. Jan will speak with the Mary Jane, the designated person. Jan will
also research “name bracelet” idea and report next month.
New Business:
Special Sunday in May- May 17th,
2009 “ In Celebration of Women”. Bring a special woman to church. We will have
a female preacher; Women’s Fellowship will do the alter flowers in Memory of
Past Members; more details to come.
Seeking a female nomination for the
“Spotlight” article. Suggestions were Geri Brown, Betsy Hendricks, Lou Field.
New male nomination was Hugh Findlay.
